The MOST IMPORTANT information to remember is:
Each placemat is UNIQUE. 
No two are alike. 
Because my bead selection varies, every placemat is different but the overall theme, color and style is uniform. Ex: Each beaded mat in a set of eight will be different from one another but will be complementary. The photos of "multiple" mats illustrate this.

For CUSTOM DESIGNED PLACEMATS:

Many customers send me a few photos of their fabric, their dining room or their china. It's helpful for me to know the diameter of your dinner plate, too. Or they describe the general "feel" they'd prefer: Whimsical, elegant, funky

I begin by making bead selections from my inventory and then arrange and re-arrange them until the "look" is achieved. I select the color and shape of the mat I think best suits the design and then place the grouping on the mat.
I am happy to send a few photos of the "draft" placemats so the customer can see the design direction. Once approved, I hand-sew each bead into place. In general, there is a "focal" or "center" bead at the top followed by 5 to 8 accent beads on either side. The
beads generally range in size from 10mm to no larger than 16mm. This keeps the grouping in the proper scale to the placemat and ensures they will be visible once the china and flatware have been placed.

Remember: It is possible to order different colored mats within a single "set". Ex: A set of 12 Christmas placemats could be made of six round metallic GOLD mats and six round metallic SILVER mats. Or six oval RED mats and six oval GREEN mats. By choosing two different colors, you actually have two sets of six mats that can be combined into one set of 12 complementary placemats. It is also possible to combine both the round and oval shapes together for variation of design.

Note: The color selection for the OVAL PLACEMATS is much more limited than the ROUND shape.

Also, pay attention to the diameter of your dinner plate. Smaller plates (9"-10" diameter) fit better on the OVAL mats while a larger dinner plate (10" and above) look better on the ROUND mats. ​
